Colorado State University Recognizes Alexandra Romero as a 2012-2013 Eco Leader

Alexandra Romero was selected from a competitive pool of applicants to serve as a sustainability peer educator for their residence hall for one academic year. Eco Leaders promote a wide variety of sustainability programs and campaigns related to energy conservation, waste reduction, recycling and composting, community service, and the interconnection between sustainability and social justice. Eco Leaders spend three to five hours each week educating peers (approximately 400 per residence hall) and they attend a weekly training meeting with the Eco Leader staff advisors to further their knowledge of sustainability topics and strengthen their speaking and engagement skills through social marketing techniques, diversity training, and social media practices.
